Describe how to boot in safe mode

Press F8 when you turn your computer on. You have to be fast, most computers come up with a BIOS screen (a load of numbers counting up and various technical jargon) and the next thing you see will be the windows XP loading screen. You have to press F8 in between these.

An idea is to just turn your computer on and keep tapping F8 (your computer may start beeping, dont worry about that). You should get a screen that gives you several options, one of which will be safe mode.
